How to Analyze Your Skin Type

Did u know that the skin is the largest organ of your body…. Yes it’s true… skin has an outer protective covering known as epidermis. Epidermis protects the skin from various pathogens, loss of fluid and controls heat regulation. People should also know that there are in all five types of skin; these are – normal, dry, oily, sensitive and combination skin.

In order to analyze your skin type, you would need a normal face wash, mild and oil free facial cleansers, soft hand towel, moisturizers meant for normal skin.

All you have to do is, give your face a good wash with a normal face wash / mild cleanser (cleansers are easily available at any medical store – but make sure you pick the one that has being labeled as ‘normal’), and wipe off gently with a soft hand towel. Wait for an hour and closely examine your skin. How does your skin feel?? Does it feel stretched, and dried? Does it give a white patchy look? Does it stretch while you smile or frown?? If your answer is yes, it means that you have a dry type of skin.

Now, if your skin gives an elastic feeling, and shows no signs of acne, indicates that you have a normal skin. A normal skin is generally does not develop any allergic reactions to skin products.
If your face gives an oily shine after the wash, it signifies that you have an oily skin. Now, if your face shows development of allergies, becomes red, appearance of acnes, pimples and broken capillaries, it implies that you have a delicate / sensitive skin type. Such skin type should be carefully treated as these are easily prone to allergic reactions on using certain skin products. Apart from this, if your skin appears oily all over but gives dry look and feels stretch in areas around the cheeks, or your skin is dry all over but has acne or appears oily and has acne clearly indicates that you have a combination type of skin.
